The Librarian By Giuseppe Arcimboldo Poster

Poster with the painting "The Librarian" by the Italian artist Giuseppe Arcimboldo from the year 1562. The painting is probably a portrait of Wolfgang Lazius (1514–1565), a scholar in the service of the Holy Roman Emperor Ferdinand I. Lazius was the official historian of the empire and looked after the imperial library and the art collection, among other things. Since 1562, Giuseppe Arcimboldo was court portraitist in Prague and portrayed Ferdinand I and several prominent people at his court during the 1560s.
